The Unwritten Rule by Elizabeth Scott

Summary:

“There are a million rules for being a girl….and one of them is this: You don’t kiss your best friend’s boyfriend” (pg 115-16).

Sarah and Brianna have been best friends forever—ever since Kindergarten when Brianna saved Sarah from a class bully—but things really started to change between them when Brianna started dating Ryan this past summer. Sarah had liked Ryan since the eighth grade, but she hadn’t told a soul, not even Brianna. So, when Brianna starts asking Sarah to come along every time she and Ryan hang out, Sarah has some big decisions to make.

It’s a classic story of forbidden love, one that most girls can probably relate to in one way or another!

Why I picked it up:

Author Elizabeth Scott sent a free copy to our school library. How awesome is that!

Why I finished it:

I had to see how Sarah managed to sort everything out…and who she chose: Brianna, Ryan, or both?!?

Who I’d give to:

Teen girls who enjoy books filled with relationships. Friends, parents, boyfriends…this one has it all! Scott does a great job of capturing the ups and downs of being a teenager. This is a book that I think teens (and anyone who has ever been a teen!) will be able to relate to. Fans of Scott will love it!

My Rating

3.5 out of 5 stars. (Sometimes Sarah’s whining really annoyed and distracted me.)

"Petite and young-looking, seventeen-year-old Sarah has been best friends with the glamorous and seductive Brianna forever, but when she starts liking Brianna's boyfriend, their friendship becomes precarious."

Sounds good, doesn't it? Check it out today @ the BHS library!
